About Debra Samuels
Debra Samuels, cookbook author, food and travel writer and cooking teacher, has been working with children, families, and food in a variety of settings for over twenty-five years. Since 2000 she has been a food stylist and regular contributor to The Boston Globe. She is coauthor of "The Korean Table," (Tuttle Publishing 2008) with Taekyung Chung and author of "My Japanese Table: A Lifetime of Cooking with Friends and Family," Tuttle Publishing, 2011.

For the past few years Debra has been pursuing her passion for obento, the compartmentalized Japanese boxed lunch. She travels throughout the United States presenting, "Obento: Japanese Culture in a Box", her popular hands-on presentation and in 2015 she partnered with the Boston Architectural College to produce the innovative exhibit, Obento and Built Space: Japanese Boxed Lunches and Built Space
